Progress Report
|
ECC#48 in July 2018 clarified that priority between different applications, i.e. different subsets of ITS (Road-ITS and Urban Rail (CBTC) -ITS in this case), can also be defined in the relevant spectrum regulation (revision of ECC Decision (08)01). This would not be against the principle of technology neutrality, but would provide clear regulatory framework. However, a prioritisation or band segmentation with regard to different technologies (G5(IEEE), LTE) should be avoided as far as possible, taking into account the need to ensure coexistence, reliable safety-related operation, and efficient use of spectrum. Technology neutrality is to be considered as a basic principle.
ECC#49 (October 2018) approved the draft CEPT Reports 70 and 71 for public consultation and sending these draft CEPT Reports to the EC.
WG FM#92 (September 2018) agreed to send a liaison statement to WG SE and SE45 in response on questions from WG SE and SE45, to inform on working assumptions set out in draft CEPT Report 71, and request to define limits for the protection of Urban Rail ITS and Road ITS.
WG FM agreed to send a reply liaison statement to ETSI on the work progress within ETSI on ITS and including some questions to ETSI. ECC#49 also agreed on a liaison statement to ETSI. It was clarified that this complements the liaison statement already sent out by WG FM#92.
WG FM agreed to the SRD/MG proposal to stop the work on an additional ECC Report on sharing between Urban Rail ITS and Road ITS since the essential information is included in draft CEPT Report 71 and draft ECC Report 290.
