Scope

FM57 is tasked to revise ECC Decision (04)08 so that the different types of WAS/RLAN installations are distinguished:
-general case (excluding those below)
   -onboard aircraft
   -onboard road vehicles
   -onboard trains

The regulatory conditions shall exclude the use of WAS/RLAN for UAS radiolinks above 5250 MHz.

WGFM #96 further tasked FM57 to develop the CEPT Report in response to the Mandate to CEPT ;-

Progress Report

The“Explanatory paper” on 5 GHz WAS/RLAN should be used as a starting point.

The 5600-5650 MHz band should be reviewed based on the outcome of CEPT and ADCO RED investigations relating to interference from 5 GHz WAS/RLAN to meteorological radars.

The work item is limited to the frequency bands 5150-5350 MHz and 5470-5725 MHz.

The CPG-19studies and the results of WRC-19 (AIs1.16, 9.1.5) need to be taken into account
