Scope
|
To develop guidelines/technical toolkits in order to assist administration to define how existing, planned and future earth stations can continue to operate or have the opportunity to be installed without significant impact on 5G deployment. This will address transmitting earth stations in the frequency band 42.5-43.5GHz and receiving earth stations in the frequency band 40.5-42.5GHz, for GSO and non-GSO satellite systems.

FSS Toolkit 40 GHz – Those guidelines /toolkits will address, as appropriate, methodology of calculations of coordination zones /contours. Also other elements such as examples of national approaches for clutter losses and deployment of FSS earth stations could be developed.
An ECC Recommendation with two separate Parts: FSS transmitting earth stations in 42.5-43.5GHz and receiving earth stations in 40.5-42.5GHz with relevant guidelines, toolkit and other elements as appropriate.
ECC #55 tasked ECC PT1 to study coexistence at the 40.5 GHz boundary between MFCN in 40.5-43.5 GHz and uncoordinated satellite earth stations in 39.5-40.5 GHz: ECC(21)027 Annex 07
