WG FM notes the critical spectrum use in the bands, in particular radio altimeters in 4.2-4.4 GHz and mobile military systems in 4.4-4.8 GHz.
The sharing and compatibility studies should include aggregation scenarios for indoor only applications.
The study should be limited to the frequency range 4.2-4.8 GHz, also considering as appropriate coexistence with WBB Local Area Networks, Fixed Service, Fixed Satellite Service and Mobile Service below 4.2 GHz and with Fixed Satellite Service, Fixed Service and Mobile Service above 4.8 GHz. The study should initially use the Low Duty Cycle mitigation technique defined in the ECC Decision (06)04 Annex 2 and investigate the upper maximum value for the Duty Cycle which is tolerable by the victim systems.
WG FM expects no change for the frequencies below 4.2 GHz and above 4.8 GHz out of this study.
WG FM would welcome the results of the studies to be available before January 2026 so they can be considered for inclusion into the CEPT Report in response to the permanent mandate on UWB.
